Task - 500,000 words in 3.5 months
         - Project managed daily over an extremely tight and strict deadline of 14 weeks. The
            foreign language translation was done through Alpnet Limited in Montreal, Canada.
         - This translation company project, in particular, demonstrates our superior
            project management skills using electronic files over email. Our client was in Canada,
            it was translated by technical staff in Japan, proof-read and layout work done in Australia
            and delivered to the printers in America.

Smile Pty Ltd
Smile is a developer of online, intranet, extranet, LAN and internet midware and front end design. Smile has built sophisticated e-commerce, Internet/Intranet/Extranet solutions for educational services, the travel industry and major companies including IBM (worldwide), Acer of Taiwan (worldwide), Ingenico (worldwide), Westpac, GIO and others.

Smile has developed and produced their own educational series. They had also developed teaching concepts and learning tools for a Danish multinational (Lego).

Global Village Translations has developed (Lego) Multimedia training products using MS Visual Studio. The development included build/QA into each language version, and Global Village Translations provided a complete language version back to Smile. The languages completed by Global Village Translations included German, Danish, Swedish, Italian and Japanese.

Compumedics Pty Ltd
Our language translation work with Compumedics mainly consisted in translating Help files and technical manuals for medical software into French, Italian and Spanish. The Help files were provided in HTNL format created with Robohelp. We used a third-party tool (FilterPack) to convert the HTML files into encoded RTF in order to allow the language translators to access all the functionalities of word processing (advanced spell-checks, detection of double spaces, etc) while ensuring access to all translatable text though the source code. We then converted the encoded RTF files back into HTML format and delivered the files in the same format. The technical files were provided in Word format. The actual software strings as well as regular updates are provided into Excel format. All language translation services done for Compumedics across various formats have been managed with Tados (Translation Memory and Terminology tools).
